East Orange’s Cafe By Us Marks Milestone Year Focused on Community and Youth Empowerment
More than a year after opening its doors, Cafe By Us has become more than a neighborhood coffee shop. The family-owned business has evolved into a welcoming gathering place where residents can connect, students can study, entrepreneurs can collaborate, and young people can find encouragement.
Located in the heart of East Orange, the café offers specialty coffee drinks, smoothies, teas, pastries and light fare in an atmosphere designed to make customers feel at home. Owner Sam “Uncle Sam” Breaker, a longtime entrepreneur and barber, said the vision for Cafe By Us was rooted in creating the kind of space he wished existed when he was growing up.
